With a unique expertise of the investigators and strong ties to the data storage industry, C3DE perceives its role aslo as a link between the fundamental academic research and the rapidly emerging market of nanomagnetic applications. The current and near-future technology niche of C3DE is the unique expertise of the investigators to invent, design, and rapidly fabricate nanomagnetic prototypes to fit specific needs of the emerging industries. Other applications, besides data storage and memory, in which C3DE is active today include nano nuclear magnetic resonance (NNMR) spectroscopy, nanomagnetic drug delivery systems, nanomagnetic sensor technologies, Spintronics, and others.
In the long-term perspective, through strong partnerships with universities, medical establishments and high-technology companies, C3DE anticipates to gradually branch out into the development of other 3D applications including silicon and carbon based electronics with one common goal to take forward health-related disciplines. |
